The Southwestern Oregon Umpires Association (SWUA) contracts to provide umpiring services for Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) member High School baseball and softball teams along the Oregon coast from Brookings to Florence. In addition, SWUA provides umpiring services for Southwestern Oregon Community College Softball and Baseball as well as American Legion Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball during the summer.
The SWUA is a member association of the OSAA and the Oregon Athletic Officials Association (OAOA). Training and certification, as mandated by the National Federation of State High Schools (NFHS) and the OSAA/OAOA, is conducted for all members during our regularly scheduled weekly meetings.
Each sport specific area (Baseball/Softball) contains Baseball and Softball Rule Changes, Baseball Rule Interpretations and Baseball and Softball 2008 Points of Emphasis. Certain areas, such as the Umpire Roster and Assignments sections, are "Members Only" areas and are password protected to safeguard personal information. Members only need to log in "once" per visit to access all protected pages.
